I saw this posted yesterday on a different list and this is what I wrote on that list:

While I appreciate the gesture behind the email, its contents are erroneous, or at least, without substantial evidence to back up the claims.

The most we know about cancer is that it begins with the mutation of a single cell. We don't know when or how the mutation happens, it just does.

My real argument is as follows. If there is a cure for cancer (which more than probably, there isn't), the general populace does not and will not know about it for a long time. The world, specifically the United States, makes WAY TOO MUCH money from treating cancer to really want to cure it. Why do you think there are pills and treatments for everything but there are no cures?

Got a headache? Here, take an aspirin. Hair falling out? Oh we got a pill for that. You have CANCER, OH NO! Don't worry, we'll expose your body to deadly amounts of radiation in the hopes that the cancer cells will die off or your "cancer" will fall into remission. And so on and so forth... The medical community and scientists don't spend your money and time curing anything but your symptoms - not the source.

If you look at the website where this information came from, the authors for these articles are listed as just that - authors; not scientists. Anyone can start a website or business on the internet and call it anything, e.g. The Heath Science Institute.

While I do not believe that lemons are a cure for cancer (God that just sounds stupid), they do hold a lot of healthful properties, mainly by the virtue that they are a citrus fruit. Drinking water with a dash of lemon juice in it will does in fact have a plethora of great uses such as restoring alkalinity your body, and balancing your pH. Mostly, lemons just taste good.

There's no "cure-all" for cancer or any disease, and there more than likely will not be for a long time to come. We will always be able to treat symptoms with conventional medicine. You want to avoid cancer and other diseases that are life threatening (e.g. Heart disease, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, etc)? Exercise consistently, eat healthy always, live within your means and in moderation, remain as stress-free as possible (look at the big picture - in the end, you won't remember the little things that bothered you), be happy, and the rest is up to your trust in God's plan for you.
