مبارک عواد درخواست کرده است که این پیام به گوش مردم ایران برسد:
مردم عزیز ایران،
در طول سی سال گذشته، رژیم حاکم بر ایران آرمان فلسطین را همچون دستمایه ای استفاده کرده است تا بدان وسیله توجه همگان را از سرکوبگریهای خود منحرف کند. من از مردم ایران سپاسگزارم، چرا که آنان سالیان سال از مردم فلسطین پشتیبانی نموده اند، به ویژه به خاطر اینکه در این روز قدس، مردم ایران در زیر ستم حکومتی غیر منتخب هستند، که از بسیاری جهت ها همانند ستمی است که بر مردم فلسطین میرود.
به عنوان یک فلسطینی، جنگجوی مادامالعمری که برای آزادی و استقلال فلسطین می رزمد، و به عنوان یکی از رهبران انتفاضهی اول فلسطینیان، من به شدت نقض حقوق بشر و خشونتهای مکرر این رژیم علیه معترضان، کوششگران و زندانیان خشونت پرهیز را محکوم میکنم. من همبستگی کامل خود را با مردم ایران اعلام کرده و پشتیبان آنان هستم. من اطمینان دارم که آنان با مقاومت و توانمندی خویش، به ایرانی آزاد و دموکراتیک دست خواهند یافت تا بتوانند در چنان کشوری فرزندان خود را پرورش داده و از زندگی سعادتمندی بهرهمند شوند.

Dear people of Iran,
For the past thirty years, the Iranian regime has used the cause of the Palestinian people as a way to distract from its own oppressive rule. I thank the people of Iran for showing their support over the years with the people of Palestine, especially because on this day of Qods, the people of Iran suffer under the kind of unelected oppression that is comparable in some ways to that suffered by Palestinians.
As a Palestinian, life-long fighter for the freedom and independence of Palestine and a leader of the first Palestinian intifada, I strongly condemn the Iranian regime's violations of human rights and repeated use of violence against the nonviolent Iranian protesters, activists and prisoners. I stand in complete solidarity with and support for the Iranian people and am confident that with their resilience, they will achieve a free and democratic Iran to raise their children in and have a good life.
